I think it's about time to put an end to antiquated anti-graffiti laws.

graffiti is one of the most honest and beautiful art movements out there.
and it IS an art movement.

even if you love pieces and murals, there are still many who want graffiti illegal simply because of tagging.
this makes no sense. you can't stop twittering and updating facebook, but you frown on someone for putting their mark out there?

keeping graffiti illegal won't stop gangland graffiti at all. it will only deter true artists, and punish the creative.

if you won't abolish the laws, at least make them more approachable. graffiti permits, perhaps? legal graffiti spots, or parks? lesser punishments, even.

come on people. if you want real culture and art, then simply do away with these foolish laws, and you'll only have to look out your window.
